Report on surveillance of dairy products for chemical residues and contaminants to confirm dairy products meet New Zealand and international standards.
This Dairy National Chemical Contaminants Programme (NCCP) – Dairy Product Surveillance Report provides a summary of results for dairy product sampled over the full 2012/13 dairy season, spanning the period July 2012 to June 2013

Evaluation of the impact and direct effect of climate change on the productivity of New Zealand's planted forest systems.
This report, commissioned by MAF, assesses a selected range of policy instruments for mitigation of greenhouse gases in agriculture. The report assesses these options against evaluation criteria and looks at short-term options and longer term strategy.
The purpose of the project was to, in collaboration with Aohanga Incorporation, develop a science-based climate change resilience strategy for Aohanga‘s multiple owned Owahanga Farm Station and to develop a social process framework for engaging rural communities and land-owning Iwi Incorporations in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
This project aimed to evaluate potential agricultural land uses that could provide an alternative to livestock production. In all scenarios, changing the land use to the selected crops increased the profitability. Converting nearly 200,000 ha of pastoral land to crops and mānuka plantations will have a relatively small effect on CH4 emissions. Adoption and development of mitigation technologies is more likely to have a large effect towards meeting future CH4 emission reduction targets.
Applied adaptation pathways provide a useful framework for strategic planning for primary industries. This report describes the ways in which climate change will affect primary industries in Hawke’s Bay. The regional pathway method provides insight into how decision taken in one domain/sector can have an impact on others, and how the region can prioritise action.
This report addresses using scenarios to identify climate risks for the primary sector, different modelling methods to quantitatively estimate risk impacts and the costs/benefits of adaptation options,.and reviews indicator frameworks used by the US, UK and EU. The report recommends that risk assessment should include a range of risk drivers, including physical and socio-economic and that an indicator programme is needed.

Shellfish may become contaminated by potential human pathogens when they come into contact with water containing human sewage or agricultural runoff. MPI contracted ESR to identify and evaluate available chemical and microbial source tracking methods and technologies that could be used as indicators of human or animal faecal contamination, particularly in NZ shellfish growing areas, thereby offering opportunity to better manage these areas minimising commercial and public health impacts.
KPMG was commissioned by Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) to evaluate Te Uru Rakau's (TUR) enablement of he 1 Billion Trees fund (1BT) outcomes.
The scope of this evaluation covers TUR's role in effectively optimising and enabling 1BT's ability to deliver the programme outcomes, not the achievement of the specific outcomes themselves.
